Kick-off your jackpot season at the Sierra Winter Classic, January 17-18, 2026!!
The 36th annual Sierra Winter Classic Beef Show is headed to the Porterville Fairgrounds January 17-18, 2026. In 1989 a small group of Cattle Breeders, 4-H Leaders and Parents got together and wanted to provide an opportunity for young Beef Exhibitors to showcase their projects before their final show of the season, from that the Annual Sierra Winter Classic Steer & Heifer show was born. The show is now host to over 300 head of cattle, 200 exhibitors and their family members from throughout the State of California and beyond. The show is held every year over the Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Observance weekend. The Sierra Winter Classic is a project of the Porterville Jr. Fair Board, a group of 4-H & FFA member’s age’s 14-19. The show allows the Jr. Fair Board the experience of running a Jr. Livestock show with the assistance from the adult committee members.
Exhibitors compete for prizes and premium money. Prizes range from buckles, jackets and vests, feed and a wide variety of items. The show would not be the success that it is if not for the generous donations from Corporate Sponsors, Feed Company Vendors, Local Business, Cattle Breeders and Individuals.
Sierra Winter Classic has touched thousands of lives while providing a great family weekend for young cattle enthusiasts. The public is welcome and there is not an admission fee. Entrance to the show is on the north side of the Fairgrounds. Enter at Road 224 (on the east side of the grounds) and follow the signs. Limited camping spaces with electricity are available. LATE ENTRIES –$25.00 per head will be assessed after 11:59 PM January 12, 2026, through January 14, 2026 11: 59 PM. Late entries will be accepted on-site only after that date/time. No special provisions for stall space will be made for late arrivals or late entries.
CASH & Credit Cards only will be accepted for entries received upon arrival.
