The Porterville Fair has been a cornerstone event in Southeastern Tulare County since 1948, the Porterville Fair is one of the last true community fairs in California.
The Porterville Fair has been an integral event in the community for 70 years and has been well established as a “Community Tradition”. Established in 1948, the first two fairs were held at Porterville High School. Followed by one year at the Rocky Hill Arena, the Fair was moved to Olive Street in 1951 and remained there until 2011. Today, thanks to the tremendous support shown by the community the Fair has a new home on 25 acres located on Teapot Dome (Ave 128) close to the Porterville Airport.
The Porterville Fair is one of only a few fairs in the State of California that is a not for profit organization and receives no State or federal funding. Governed by a volunteer Board of Directors originally consisting of just three members, the Board has slowly grown to today’s 13-member strong working board. Board members represent the Porterville Fair service area from Lindsay to Ducor and Poplar to Springville.
