Heritage Association Gearing Up For Fair


The Porterville Fair Heritage Association has been busy getting ready  for the 2015 Porterville Fair.  In addition to the Heritage Animal to be shown and auctioned, the Association will host a “VIP” type lounge for  the duration of the fair.  The lounge will  have a full bar, a private outside patio, as well as snacks and air conditioning.  Appetizers will be served  each evening, and a “Buyer Brunch” will be served from 8:00 a.m. to 10:00 a.m. on Saturday.  Fair guests will be offered the option of  purchasing value packages, which will include access to the Heritage . Tent Lounge for those age 21 or older.



     Sarah Dreyer of Exeter 4-H has been announced the Recipient of this year’s “Heritage Animal” Scholarship.  Sarah was selected from an exceptional group of applicants based on her grade point average, citizenship skills, letters of recommendation, community participation, and an interview. 

     Sarah has been an active member of Exeter 4-H for nine years.  She has held past leadership positions including club president and has been involved in many projects.  She is Chapter Secretary of Exeter FFA, where she is a 2013 Chapter Farmer recipient and 2014 Outstanding FFA member.  She is currently serving as Miss Exeter and maintains a 4.18 grade point average.  After graduation, she hopes to attend Cal Poly, San Luis Obispo and pursue a career in Animal Biology or Genetics.  She is the daughter of Dan and Patty Dreyer.  Sarah will be showing the Heritage lamb at the 2015 Porterville Fair Jr. LIvestock Show.  The lamb will be the last animal sold at the livestock auction on Saturday, May 16thAll proceeds from the Heritage Animal will be used to reduce the debt incurred with the construction of the new fairgrounds.

The mission of the Porterville Fair Heritage Association is to ensure growth and viability for youth related educational programs, exhibits, and future projects needed at the fairgrounds.  The Heritage Association is dedicated to supporting the Porterville Fair so that it may continue to to be an exemplary multi-use community resource.
